Fenoprofen, a propionic acid derivative, is a prototypical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAIA) that also exhibits analgesic and antipyretic activity.

Fenoprofen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and also is used for analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects in the symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The potential benefits and risks of fenoprofen therapy as well as alternative therapies should be considered prior to initiating fenoprofen therapy. The lowest possible effective dosage and shortest duration of therapy consistent with treatment goals of the patient should be employed.
