Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic and antihypertensive agent. Valsartan is an angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist (also referred to as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)). Valsartan also is commercially available in fixed combination with sacubitril, a neprilysin inhibitor.
