Antacids also are used for the relief of esophageal reflux, acid indigestion, heartburn, dyspepsia, and sour stomach; for the prevention of stress ulceration and GI bleeding; to reduce the risk associated with gastric aspiration; and for the management of hyperphosphatemia.
