Oxacillin is a semisynthetic penicillinase-resistant penicillin antibiotic.

Oxacillin shares the uses of other parenteral penicillinase-resistant penicillins (e.g., nafcillin) and generally is used only in the treatment of infections caused by, or suspected of being caused by, susceptible penicillinase-producing staphylococci.
