Eplerenone
Cardiovascular-In the EPHESUS study, patients over 75 years of age with heart failure post-acute myocardial infarction did not benefit from treatment with eplerenone. Metabolic-Treated elderly have a higher incidence of drug induced hyperkalemia. Renal-Manufacturer recommends that patients treated for hypertension with CrCl <51 mL/min and all patients with CrCl <31 mL/min should not be treated with eplerenone.
