Neuro/Psych-Inc risk of tardive dyskinesia. CNS effects; sedation, cognitive impairment, and inc fall risk. Avoid use for behav probs of dementia or delirium unless failed nonpharm options. Inc risk of stroke, cognitive decline, and death when used with senile dementia. Max 2mg/day. Endocrine-May exacerbate or cause SIADH or hyponatremia. Cardiovascular-May cause orthostatic hypotension. Gastrointestinal-May cause or worsen constipation. Renal-Titrate carefully w/renal impairment.
