DRONABINOL (DRONABINOL)
- Anorexia from HIV
- Cancer chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
10 mg capsule
- 5 mg/m2 by oral route 1 to 3 hours before chemotherapy, then every 2 to 4 hours after chemotherapy as needed, totaling 4-6 doses daily
2.5 mg capsule
- 5 mg/m2 by oral route 1 to 3 hours prior to chemotherapy, then every 2 to 4 hrs after chemo as needed, for a total of 4-6 doses daily
5 mg capsule
- 5 mg/m2 by oral route 1 to 3 hours prior to chemotherapy, then every 2 to 4 hrs after chemo as needed, for a total of 4-6 doses daily
10 mg capsule
- 5 mg/m2 by oral route 1 to 3 hours before chemotherapy, then every 2 to 4 hours after chemotherapy as needed, totaling 4-6 doses daily

Dronabinol
General-Elderly may be more sensitive to the neuropsychiatric and postural hypotensive effects. Consider a lower starting dose. Neuro/Psych-Psychoactive effects including cognitive impairment and altered mental state, and possible drug-dependence requires close monitoring. Consider patient fall risk.
